An orange sun greeted Erin, Zacharie, our 3-months-old baby and I on a mid-September morning. It was our wedding anniversary, and what better way to celebrate it than at this awe-inspiring place. Bass Harbor Head Light, steadfast and surrounded by towering pines, was impressive.
The rising sun enhanced the pink tints in the rugged rock formation with their shadows moving by the minute. We sat on a ring of rocks and heard the frequent clang of a nearby fog buoy as we enjoyed our morning coffee. It was low tide and I soon made my way to the other end of the light and back in search for the perfect composition. A lobster boat appeared. As the engine gargled and echoed, a middle- aged woman pulled up her traps checking for the day's catch. I looked at Erin and said "Can it get any better than this?". The famous pink granite of Acadia National Park inspired me to add a pinkish tint to a vast open sky representing the freedom and peace we sensed here. With an irregular (artwork) edge this art print does not require matting. Celebrate the beauty and spirit of your favorite Maine lighthouse, perfect for your home or office. Available in 18" x 24" (standard frame size) or the Grand View size of 36" x 53". Signed & Dated
